Great Basin National Park  is a cornucopia of underground caves, cultural resources, and high mountain environments. Two of the most popular trails in the park are the Alpine Lakes Loop and Glacier Trail, which are adjacent to one another.

Two educational signs marked the junction for the trails, but they were outdated, vandalized, and degrading. The Fund for People in Parks provided a grant to the Great Basin National Park Foundation to produce and install two signs that describe each trail and provide educational information about the glacier and lakes. The signs nicely complement a previous Fund-sponsored project, the Bristlecone Trail Educational Signs, as well as a planned park project to re-do orientation signs at the parking lot.

Signs were installed in July 2024 and are serving 50,000 hikers annually!
